Show Dry Bar at House of Fraser, Metrocentre

Does anyone else have major hair dramas when they're getting ready to go out? When it comes to doing my hair for a party or special event I have to admit that I really struggle and usually, after an hour of sweat, tears and burnt ears (just me?) I have to give up! I'm absolutely useless at doing my hair. So it's a good job SHOW Beauty at House of Fraser Metrocentre have arrived to save me from ever having another hair disaster.

Crazy to think that SHOW Beauty have actually been at the Metrocentre in Gateshead for almost 18 months yet I didn't pay them a visit until this week. All those months of hair emergencies and the answer was right under my nose all this time.

If you've never heard of SHOW Beauty before, where have you been? They were "the" beauty brand of last year with everyone going crazy for their beautiful packaging and high quality products. Created by Tamara Ecclestone, SHOW's opulent shampoos, conditioners, oils and sprays are an indulgent treat for your hair. The extensive range covers everything that you need to style your hair whilst being sulphate and paraben free and smelling divine.

I was invited along to the SHOW Beauty Bar at House of Fraser Metrocentre to celebrate the launch of Lux Volume, SHOW's latest product to hit the shelves. Enriched with White Truffle and Wheat Protein, the new Lux Volume range adds weightless lift to your hair and boosts volume at the roots whilst leaving it beautifully soft and silky. Here in Newcastle us ladies are obsessed with huge hair so something tells me this new range of products is going to be very popular with Geordie lasses in the Metrocentre!

My current mission is to cover my dressing table in SHOW products (the packaging is so beautiful it's hard to resist). I started using the Treatment Oil (£51.00) a few months ago and it is a game changer. It's such a multi purpose product and I use it as either an intense conditioner or use a tiny amount as a finishing oil to tame flyaway frizz!


We are very very lucky here in Newcastle Gateshead to have a SHOWBeauty Bar at House of Fraser, it was the first to open outside of London and is one of only 7 in the UK! I couldn't resist hopping into a chair at SHOW Beauty in House of Fraser for my very own Lux Volume hairstyle.

To be honest I wasn't really expecting to get much volume out of my hair. It's beginning to get pretty thin at the top (thanks old age!) and all I ever manage to get out of it is a high level of frizz as soon as I step out of the door. I began to explain all of this as I sat down in the seat, not wanting my lovely stylist Louise to get her hopes up.

How wrong I was!

Having completed some beautiful braids, curls and top knots on some of the other ladies in the salon she quickly got to work on my short do, promising me loads of curls and volume for a gorgeous new style.

In no time at all I was transformed, thanks to the skills of Louise and the beautiful SHOW Beauty products I barely recognised myself. I had no idea my hair could look so thick and voluminous and I can't wait to give some of the new products a go now to see if I can get my hair this big myself!  I've got the new launch Lux Volume Shampoo (£30.00) and Lux Volume Conditioner (£30.00) to try at home so I'll be sure to let you know how I get on!

There's no doubt that I will definitely be returning to the SHOW Dry Bar next time I'm struggling with my hair and I can't wait to try out some more of the services on offer. My days of trying and failing to create a beautiful do for a wedding, night out or party are over!
