Last week the Continental Christmas Market arrived at Monument in Newcastle's city centre, giving us an unmissable opportunity to leave our oven switched off for the evening and dine out in true festive street style.
Although not as big as the more famous Northern Christmas markets of Leeds and Manchester, the market in Newcastle still had plenty on offer with Dutch Waffles, French crepes and Spanish paella.

There was no question where Simon would be heading for his dinner. The German Bratwurst stall. Proper thick German sausages, cooked on an open fire and smothered in ketchup - who can resist?
I love this market its so sweet! I love the stall with the reindeer and things for your home and garden. I bought a penguin from there last year! I'm off to the Durham Christmas Market before work today :) ah I love Christmas!!

I do wish it was a teeny bit bigger though! Simon went to the huge Manchester market this year and I'm quite jealous I didn't get to go!
