Every year on November 11th we remember those who died to give us a better future. I'm not going to sit here and talk about War but I will just say how important I think it is to honour this day and take just a few moments out of our busy lives to stop and appreciate all of the brave men and women who have given us the life that we all take for granted.
Buying a Poppy is such a simple and easy way to show your support for our Armed Forces, both past, present and future. Traditionally I've always bought a paper poppy however they're not always practical for rainy weather and I find they easily get lost. So I'm very happy to introduce you to the Poppy Shop.
The Poppy Shop is run by the British Legion with all of the proceeds going to The Royal British Legion who care and campaign for our Armed Forces and their families.
The shop offers an amazing range of Poppies to suit every taste from brooches and necklaces to umbrellas and T-shirts.
I loved looking through the shop and picked out a couple of different pins to wear on my coat. I picked a Medium Gold Brooch to wear on my Parka. It cost me £14.99 and I'm so pleased with it. It's very well made, sparkles with ruby crystals and has "lest we forget" engraved on the back.
My second purchase was the Crochet Brooch which I am wearing on my dark Winter coat. It cost me £9.99 and is so bright and colourful - I've had so many compliments on it.
I am so happy to have found some gorgeous alternatives to my usual paper Poppy! Let me know if you get yourself anything!
Ray bought me the medium brooch the other day! Mine is the silver one. I love that they have so many alternatives to the paper poppies (I always had issues with the pins) x
ReplyDeleteI was quite tempted to get one of the gorgeous poppy dresses!
DeleteLove this post. I'm after one of the glittery ones like you have!

They are so gorgeous!
DeleteI wanted the little poppy friendship bracelet but it was out of stock last time I checked!
ReplyDeleteAwesome post though and props to you for highlighting such an important day and way to support it.
xo
Some of the bits seem to be very popular, the larger version of my brooch had completely sold out too!
DeleteI love the crochet ones - thanks for supporting this cause.

I think the crochet one is my favourite too :)

Definitely!
DeleteI always loose my poppies but in purchasing another it all goes to a good cause. This year I opted for a small red and gold but I love the gold brooch so beautiful. A really worthy cause that people today should remember Lucy x
ReplyDeleteToo true - I once bought one at the Tube Station on the way to work and then managed to lose it between there and my office .. doh!
